Gnome-centered distribution
The GNOME Desktop has been making huge strides in making the Linux desktop more accessible. From usability improvements through the use of the GNOME Human Interface Guidelines to the new "spatial" Nautilus, the default GNOME desktop is an awesome display of technologies that is also a pleasure to use.
The downside to all of this quick advancement is that GNU/Linux distributions are slow to adopt the new releases until bugs with the distribution are sorted out. What I would like to see is a GNOME specific distribution. What I mean is that there would be a distribution that caters to showcasing the latest and greatest GNOME technologies and is available for everyday use. The distribution would not need to worry about providing other desktop environments such as KDE, nor would it have to make sure that alternative technologies to those that are available in the base GNOME system be easily installed. It would just work and any problems associated with the distribution could easily just be considered problems with GNOME.
This is a project idea that I might pursue one day, but right now, I am pre-occupied with other projects.
